European single size duvets are the standard size used in Northern and Central Europe. At 135 x 200 cm (53 x 79 in), duvets are sized for the individual and work on any bed size. The US Twin size is too large to use two on one bed.

Ideally, we recommend a winter and a summer insert. Our favorite winter insert is medium duck down. In summer, we switch to light wool and extra light bamboo. We recommend covers to match your style and it’s always nice to have an extra set on hand.

Regarding insert weight, the recommended starting point is based on the average room temperature. Extra Light (70F+), Light (65-70F), Medium (60-65F), Warm (55-60F), Extra Warm (50-55F).

A duvet is the blanket system at the heart of the Scandinavian Sleep Method. It consists of an insert (the insulation layer) and a cover (the washable style layer). A duvet is the insert and cover assembled together.

Yes, our duvets are sized for the individual and not for the bed size. You might use different methods of making the bed based in the bed size, but it’s always easier to work with a duvet rather than a top sheet. Also works great for individuals on twin size beds. Your high schooler or college student might even make their own bed!

You will use your existing fitted sheet and pillow cases, but not the top sheet. The Scandinavian Sleep Method traditionally uses only the duvet, but of course you might also want to add a coverlet to accent the made bed.

Duvet Inserts

Duck Down - We recommend machine wash warm (140 F max).  Do not dry in machine, but rather hang to dry.  Once dry fluff insert to redistribute down and bring back that original fluffiness.

Wool - We recommend dry cleaning our wool inserts

Bamboo - Machine wash warm (140 F max).  Machine dry.

Down-Like Fiber - Machine wash any setting (200 F max).  Machine dry.

Duvet Covers

Machine wash any setting.  Machine dry.  Iron as needed.

• Cleaning fee and rehoming fee will be deducted from refund (Covers $30, Inserts $50).
